North-West Mai Chau – Dien Bien Phu

Day 1: Hanoi - Mai Chau - Son La (320 km)

7h00 depart to Mai Chau. Lunch will be served in restaurant. In the afternoon, you will have a trek, sightseeing around Mai Chau valley. After that, keep going to Son La. Arrive and overnight in Son La.

Day 2: Son La - Dien Bien Phu (180 km)

Short trek to Thai villages, visit French prison, Thuan Chau market. Go to Dien Bien Phu. Visit the Pha Din Pass (1300m high) and Muong Thanh Bridge. Overnight in Dien Bien Phu.

Day 3: Dien Bien Phu - Lai Chau (100 km)

In the morning, you will visit the historical sites of the former Dien Bien Phu battlefield (Elaine II hill, museum, CP of General Decastrie). Up to Lai Chau to see Hmong, Kh’mu, Black Thai, Muong and Dao. Overnight in Lai Chau.

Day 4: Lai Chau - Sapa (180 km)

Drive up Tam Duong to visit some morning markets. Depart to Sapa, it allows you to take in as much as possible of the breath taking scenery in short trip from Lai Chau to Sapa. Overnight in hotel and enjoy a night in Sapa town.

Day 5: Sapa

Full day trekking in Sapa to see terrace fields with excellent views on the way. You will be attracted by the normal life of the people there and see their traditional customs, discovering distinctive aspects of the Hmong, Giay, Red Dao ethnic groups. Spend one more night in Sapa.

Day 6: Sapa - Hanoi (370 km)

Return to Hanoi by car. Having lunch on the way. Tour finishes in the afternoon in Hanoi.

Note: In the evening of the fifth day you can go back to Hanoi by express train departing from Lao Cai train station (It is 37 km from Sapa to Lao Cai). You will arrive in Hanoi at about 5h00 on the next day.
