Night 1: 20h15 - Depart from your hotel by private coach to Hanoi Railway Station and catch the night train to Lao Cai (soft sleeper with air-conditioning). Leave Hanoi at 21h00.
Day 1 : Sapa - Lao Chai - Ta Van village
Arrive at Lao Cai railway station at 6h00 and transfer by bus to Sapa, arriving at 7h00, check in hotel. After breakfast, we start the walk (6 km), from Sapa to the Black Hmong village of Lao Chai. Excellent panorama of a large valley paddy fields and takes a small local path leading into bottom of the valley, enjoying a picnic lunch along the way. After lunch, continue to visit the Giay people of Ta Van village in the middle of the Muong Hoa valley and then return by jeep to Sapa. Have dinner and stay overnight at the hotel in Sapa.
Day 2 : Sapa - Can Cau market (Saturday)
Starting from Sapa at 6h00, you will visit Can Cau market. It is small but extremely colorful, set in mountains near the Chinese border. You can see many ethnic groups going to the market from the villages to sell or buy goods. The Flower Hmong ethnic group is the most common here; their colorful explains their name. You will spend the whole morning there then go to Bac Ha for lunch. In the afternoon, you can take an easy trek to Ban Pho village and visit the “old castle of the former Hmong king”. You stay overnight at a hotel in Bac Ha.
Day 3: Bac Ha market (Sunday)
You will visit this huge market with its with its entire colorful ethnic people such as the White Hmong, Phu La and Dao Tuyen who gather here to buy and sell. You can enjoy lunch in a local restaurant before starting a 12km ride to Lung Phin village, homes of White Hmong and Phu La people. 17h00 return to Lao Cai.
Start 21h to 22h - Night train back to Hanoi (soft sleeper with air-conditioning).
Night 4: 5h00 - Trip ends at Hanoi Railway Station
